"Some people enter your life so normally that you don't even realize when they become a part of your story. A simple conversation, a random meeting, or just a small moment...
and
suddenly someone who was a stranger yesterdaystarts feeling strangely familiar."🎀

The first day at a new school always carried a different kind of nervousness. It was not exactly fear, but more like the feeling of standing at the beginning of a road you had never walked before.
Everything looked exciting, yet unfamiliar. The huge corridors of Emerald Cryst Academy were filled with students rushing towards their classes, laughing with their friends, complaining about homework, and creating memories without even realizing that one day they would miss these ordinary moments.
Akshita Raichand stood near the entrance of the school, holding her timetable in one hand and adjusting the strap of her bag with the other.
She looked around at the crowd of students and took a small breath. For someone who was usually full of confidence and endless talks, she suddenly felt a little lost.
It was strange because she could talk to anyone, make anyone laugh, and turn an awkward situation into a funny one, but today was different. Today was the first step into a completely new world.
"Akshu."
She immediately turned around hearing that familiar voice, and a small smile appeared on her face.
Vansh Raichand was standing there with his helmet in his hand, looking at her with that protective expression he always had whenever it came to his little sister.
For everyone else, Vansh was the confident football captain, the popular senior everyone knew, the boy who always looked like he had everything figured out.
But with Akshita, he was just her bhai -
the same person who still worried if she ate properly, the same person who remembered every small thing about her, and the same person who couldn't handle seeing even a little sadness in her eyes.
"What happened, princess?" he asked softly.
Akshita shook her head. "Nothing, bhai."
Vansh raised an eyebrow because he knew her too well. "Akshu."
She looked down at her shoes and sighed. "I don't know... it's just weird. New school, new people. What if I don't fit in?"
For a moment, Vansh's expression softened. He walked closer and gently messed up her hair like he always did.
"Baccha, you don't have to worry about that. You have the kind of heart that makes people comfortable around you. Trust me, five minutes with you and people will already know you're impossible to ignore."
Akshita laughed. "Bhai, that sounded like a dialogue from a movie."
"Maybe because my sister deserves movie-level dialogues."
She rolled her eyes but couldn't stop smiling.
And that was exactly what Vansh wanted.
Because for him, Akshita was not just his sister.
She was his little world
He could handle losing a match, failing at something, or facing any problem in life, but he could never handle seeing tears in her eyes.
"Call me if you need anything, okay?" he said.
"Bhai, I am not a kid."
"To me, you are."
"Bhaii."
"Akshu."
She stared at him.
He smiled.
And she knew there was no winning against him.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the school, the basketball court was already filled with energy.
The sound of the ball hitting the ground echoed across the empty morning campus, and the players moved around the court preparing for practice.
In the middle of them stood Devansh Malhotra.
He had always been someone who believed in discipline.
While other students were still trying to find their classrooms, Devansh had already organized his schedule, finished his pending work, and reached practice on time. He was the kind of person teachers trusted and students respected. Being the head boy and basketball captain was not just a title for him,it was a responsibility.
He picked up his water bottle after practice when a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Mr. Perfect is already in school before everyone else? Shocking."
Devansh turned around and saw Aarav Ahuja walking towards him with his usual carefree smile.
"Aarav."
"What?"
"Don't start."
Aarav placed a hand on his chest dramatically. "Wow. Good morning to you too.
First day of school and
my best friend already
hates me."
"I don't hate you."
"That's the nicest thing you've said today."
Devansh shook his head slightly, but a small smile appeared.
That was Aarav's talent.
He could make even the most serious person smile.
--------------
The bell rang, announcing the beginning of the first period.
Students started moving towards their classes, and the corridors slowly became crowded.
Akshita looked at her timetable again.
"Block B... second floor, 10th A."
She nodded confidently.
"Okay Akshita, you can do this."
She started walking with determination.
For exactly three minutes.
Then she stopped.
She looked at the corridor.
Then at the paper.
Then back at the corridor.
"Why does this school look like a maze?" she whispered.
A student passing by looked at her strangely.
Akshita smiled awkwardly. "I mean... whoever designed this place definitely wanted new students to suffer."
She laughed softly to herself and continued walking.
The problem was, Akshita Raichand had a habit.
She got lost in her thoughts very easily.
And today, that habit became the reason for something she never expected.
Because while she was looking at her timetable, someone was coming from the opposite direction.
Neither noticed.
Until they collided.
Her books slipped from her hands and fell on the floor.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry."
She immediately bent down to pick them up.
"I wasn't looking and I was trying to find my class and I know that sounds stupid because I should have looked where I was going but-"
She stopped.
Because when she looked up...
She saw him.
A boy wearing a basketball jersey.
His hair was slightly messy from practice, his expression calm, and his features sharper than anyone she had seen before.
But what caught her attention the most were his eyes.
Dark brown.
Quiet.
Intense.
For a moment, Akshita forgot she was supposed to say something.
Andddd
Devansh Malhotra, who had never been someone who got distracted easily, found himself staring at her hazel eyes.
There was something different about her.
She looked nervous but still managed to smile.
She looked lost but somehow still carried a warmth around her.
"Are you okay?"
His voice brought her back.
"Huhh?"
"Are you ok ?" He asked her again
"Yeah "
She quickly stood up.
"Yes, I'm fine. I'm sorry again."
Devansh looked at the timetable in her hand.
"10th A?"
She nodded.
"Yes."
He pointed towards the other side
"You're going the wrong way."
Her eyes widened.
"Seriously?"
A small smile appeared on his face.
"Yes."
She covered her face for a second. "First day and I'm already lost. Great."
Devansh gave a small laugh.
"Don't worry. It happens."
She looked at him.
"Even you got lost?"
"Sometimes."
"Really?"
"Yeah. This school is bigger than it looks."
For some reason, that simple answer made her smile.
Because suddenly, she didn't feel as nervous anymore.
"I'm Akshita, by the way."
"Devansh."
She nodded.
"I know."
He raised an eyebrow.
"You know?"
She immediately realized how weird that sounded.
"I mean... everyone knows you. You're the head boy and basketball captain."
Before he could reply, another voice interrupted.
"Devansh! Finally found you."
Aarav came running towards them and immediately looked between them.
A slow teasing smile appeared on his face.
Devansh already knew that look
"Aarav."
"What?"
"Don't."
"I didn't even say anything."
"But you were about to."
Aarav smiled.
Akshita tried to hide her laugh.
And Devansh noticed.
Again.
